Born in the United States during the 1930s, the cookie quickly became the undisputed king of afternoon treats. It can be reinvented endlessly, and everyone seems to have their own favourite recipe. In Bordeaux, it has become a true institution over the last five years. Dedicated cookie shops have appeared everywhere, and it can be found in nearly every bakery. It has even become a serious rival to the famous canelé!
At Mlle Potts & Co, our cookie is a simple classic with a little extra soul. The brownie is pure indulgence, a celebration of real chocolate. Also born in the United States, it is believed to have first appeared at Chicago's Palmer House Hotel in 1893, although the version we know today dates back to 1906.
Like the cookie, it can now be found in almost every bakery: pecan brownies, extra-chocolate brownies, and even its close cousin, the blondie.
