One last chapter at Mlle Potts & Co 📖
Some posts are harder to write than others. This one marks the final chapter for Mlle Potts & Co: at the end of October, the tea room will close its doors and a new chapter will begin. Before that happens, I wanted to make this month a lovely farewell, true to the spirit that has defined this place. On the programme: creative workshops, sessions to look after yourself and your projects, a touch of Halloween and one very last event on the 25th. Here’s the full programme, to be enjoyed together one last time.
As for the events, the month kicks off on the very first weekend, with a focus on creativity.
On Saturday the 3rd, from 3 pm, I’m running a Jewellery & Cookie workshop with with Naama Bijoux. We’ll start with the cookies, and whilst they’re baking, you’ll create your own piece of jewellery. A creative afternoon to share with friends or family.
On Sunday 4th, also from 3 pm, Alice au pays des livres will introduce you to book edge painting. This traditional technique decorates the edges of books with colourful and unique patterns – a real treat for book lovers. A creative and indulgent experience, combining teapots and paintbrushes, where you’ll leave with your very own unique book.
The first week of October continues with two very contrasting events.
On Tuesday 6th, join us during your lunch break for Café Réno with Anne-Laure Poulain, a renovation project manager. If you’ve got a renovation or building project in mind but don’t know where to start, come along to ask all your questions and leave with clear, practical advice.
On Wednesday 7th, Kaagari invites you to a vocal exploration session, starting at 6.30 pm, to discover your voice and embody your presence. It’s a mindful interlude, open to everyone, whether you sing or not. The exploration will be followed by a chat over a buffet.
Mid-October is a time when Mlle Potts & Co’s regular events take the spotlight.
On Tuesday 13th, from 6.30 pm, Ann-Aël Nestour’s Cercle Patrimonial des Femmes is meeting to discuss a topic that will resonate with many: ‘saving without the pressure’. You don’t need much to get started. The key is knowing how to go about it, how much to set aside, how to build up a financial safety net, and what to do with your money afterwards.
On Wednesday 14th, the Love Stories Book Club is getting into the Halloween spirit with a ‘Spooky Season’ edition. It’ll be a chance to share your spine-tingling favourites and add a few seasonal reads to your to-be-read pile. This month’s activity: painting your own bookmark with watercolours…
On Friday 16th, from 9am, La Boucle Business is holding its monthly meet-up at Mlle Potts & Co. It’s a fresh opportunity for female entrepreneurs to network and inspire one another.
On Saturday 17th, Lo’Aura from Loly Bâ, a holistic life coach, will be hosting a new session dedicated to wellbeing and self-awareness.
And to round off the month, let’s enjoy one last weekend, full of thrills and emotion.
On Saturday 24th, Mar(és)ine is hosting a Halloween-themed Jesmonite workshop. Marbled, glittery, speckled, two-tone or enhanced by the timeless charm of terrazzo… give free rein to your creativity to craft accessories that reflect your personality.
Finally, Sunday 25th will be Mlle Potts & Co’s very last day: one final brunch, one last shared cup of tea and one last moment together before we close the doors at 2 Rue Planterose. I hope to see lots of you there. 🤍
Workshops, meet-ups, reunions and plenty of emotion: this final month at Mlle Potts & Co will, I hope, reflect everything this place has been thanks to you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for every visit, every workshop and every shared smile. I can’t wait to see you all one last time! 🫖
